Gurja village accessible after 15 days

PR

MYAGDI, JAN 13 - Remote Gurja VDC of Myagdi has come into contact with neighbouring VDCs after 15 days, with the positive turn in the weather.
The VDC had been cut off following heavy snow. The village residents were able to come into contact with the rest of the world only after they cleared a path for mules to cross.
However, the path is not fit for people to travel. It may still take another 15 days for the local lower secondary school in the village to resume normal classes, according to Khim Prasad Acharya, the Headmaster. 142 Chhantyal families, an ethnic community, reside in the village.Posted on: 2004-01-14 04:17
