Sad news

JAN 12 - It was shocking and great disappointment to learn that Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok passed away on January 6. He was one of the most influential Buddhist leaders in Tibet. He had become a target of the Chinese authorities since 1996, when China began to monitor stricter control on Larung Gar and Khenpo monasteries. This might be the reason for his heart ailment.
Since he is no more with us, I would like to pray for his speedy rebirth and hope that Tibetans work to fulfil his wish of preserving and promoting the unique Tibetan religion.
