Agitaters demand release of student leader
KATHMANDU, JAN 12 - The seven students organisations have warned the government that it would be responsible for any untoward incidents that would come up if government did not release their friend who was arrested during the protest programme in the capital today.
The press statement issued by Nepal Students Union here has claimed that the police have arrested Rajendra Pathak of Bishwo Bhasha Campus and has demanded his immediate release.
Bhupendra Rai, president of Nepal Students Union, Ratna Rajya Luxmi Campus unit, was severely injured in today’s clash between the students and the security forces.The statement further states that seven students organisations continued protests with various programmes including the torch rally in Chabahil, Old Baneshwor, Ashon, Indra Chowk, Balaju and Kalanki.
