3000 people benefit from mobile camps

JAJARKOT, JAN 10 - About three thousand people have been benefited from the mobile camp at Jagatipur VDC, 12 miles from the headquarters of Jajarkot district, conducted with the objective of providing government services to the people at their doorsteps.
Citizenship certificates were issued to 300 persons and disabled certificates to 15 persons at the camp coordinated by the District Administration Office.
At the camp held on January 7 and 8, the District Education Office disbursed scholarships worth Rs 46,000 to 286 deserving and disciplined Dalit students.
The health camp conducted by the Public Health Office examined the health of 1053 persons and provided necessary drugs free of cost at the camp.
Likewise, the veterinary camp provided animal husbandry services to 669 farmers and gave necessary drugs also while goats were vaccinated against PPR, the District Agriculture Development Office provided seeds of vegetables to 300 farmers and pesticide for the protection of their crops to 20 farmers self-help groups at the camp.
A sum of Rs 55,200 was distributed as relief among 865 disabled, widows and senior citizens at the camp.
Chairman of the District Development Committee (DDC), Dhan Bahadur Adhikari, Chief District Office (CDO), Dandapani Baral, chief of the Birdal Company, Niranjan Kumar Shrestha, Local Development Officer Narendra Bahadur Thapa and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bikash Shrestha gave away the scholarships, senior citizens allowances, citizenship certificates ad disabled certificates.Posted on: 2004-01-11 04:37
