New appointments in UML central committee

POST REPORT

KATHMANDU, JAN 07 - The CPN-UML’s fifth central committee meeting today endorsed nomination of 10 members by the standing committee to the party central committee.
The newly nominated members to the central committee are Bachaspati Devkota, Guru Baral, Devraj Ghimire, Prithvi Subba, Ranadhwoj Kandangwa and Raghubir Seth as full-fledged members while Ram Nath Dhakal, Bhanubhakta Jaishi and Radha Gyawali are
nominated as alternative members.
During the meeting, party general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal also presented a political proposal for the settlement of the current political stalemate.
In his proposal, Nepal has demanded the immediate dismissal of the present Surya Bahadur Thapa government to form an all-party government.
The formation of the all-party government will hold an all-party conference to settle the political and Maoist problems, the general secretary has stated in his proposal.
Nepal has also argued in his presentation that the all-party government will be taken as an interim government, which will then hold parliamentary elections.
The meeting will continue tomorrow.Posted on: 2004-01-08 03:49
