Badi women going to India

TIKAPUR, JAN 05 - Badi women, who practise flesh trade as an ancestral profession, are found leaving for India in pursuit of their profession. Decline in their profession due to insurgency forced them to go to India. In absence of customers and having no alternate profession, Badi women in the area are now entertaining the personnel of Indian paramilitary force stationed along the Indo-Nepal border, according to sources.
A few days back, a Badi woman was found accompanying an Indian national on their way to India. Local youth attacked the Indian and also manhandled the woman warning her not to practise flesh trade, according to Dipendra Bhandari, a local.Posted on: 2004-01-06 04:55
