Sagarmatha, Rajdhani into last eight

POST REPORT

KATHMANDU, JAN 03 - Two goals from Pramod Tandukar ensured Radio Sagarmatha a berth in the quarterfinal of the Third Tuborg Media Cup Football Tournament here today while Rajdhani Daily too booked last eight place defeating Annapurna Post.
Tandukar scored the first in 51st minute in a penalty but Communication Corner equalised three minutes later with a goal from Sunil Manandhar. Tandukar again netted four minutes before the final whistle to wrap up the game, which saw brilliant performance from man of the match Radio Sagarmatha goalkeeper Surya Prasai.
Rajdhani Daily bounced back from a goal down in their 3-1 win over Annapurna Post later. Suraj Chettri found the net in the 36th minute for Annapurna Post only to see Prakash Lama firing home the equaliser in the 50th minute. Subash Subba gave Rajdhani a much-deserved lead in the 62nd minute while striker Dinesh Jung Shah hammered the final nail in the coffin in the dying hour.Posted on: 2004-01-04 04:40
