Hypocrisy
DEC 29 - I read your news report on the Indian government’s continuous hesitation to arrest the Maoist terrorists. (“India never co-operated to arrest Maoists,” Dec 24) It seems that India’s drive against terrorism is confined to rhetoric and false assurances.
Instead of using the terrorist issue as a card to play against Nepal, Indians should realise that the growth of terrorism in Nepal is also a potent threat to its security and wellbeing. If the Indian government, according to your report, has always been hesitant to arrest the Maoist leaders even when we had supplied credible intelligence information, I strongly suggest that we scrap the 1816 Treaty of Sugauli and fight to get back our territory.
