Sita Air plane makes emergency landing
NARAYANGADH, DEC 29 - A Kathmandu-bound aircraft of Sita Air that flew from Pokhara made an emergency landing at the Bharatpur airport after its front windshield cracked in the mid-air.
The windshield developed fissure 12 minutes after it took off from the Pokhara airport. The German-made Dornier aircraft was flying at an altitude of 12,000 feet when the windshield was detected to have cracked.
Bharatpur Airport chief Raj Kumar Chhetri said that the aircraft was landed at the airport for safety reasons. Chhetri said that the windshield might have cracked because of wide difference in temperature inside and outside the aircraft. Most of the passengers were sent by road.Posted on: 2003-12-30 04:50
