Medicals evading tax

BAJURA, DEC 26 - The medical halls which are running without acquiring license evading taxes and exploiting locals by selling date-expired medicines in high prices in the district.
"Those medical halls are not only evading the tax but also charging money for medicine on their own, putting the locals in trouble," said Chakra Shah of Martadi Hospital.
There are 28 medical halls in the district at present but only four them have acquired operating license.
According to Shah, the medical halls are selling the medicine three-fold higher to the actual price.
He also pointed out that the medical halls have been selling the date expired medicine even without the prescription, thereby putting up the lives of public at risk.
"The concerned sector has turned a blind ear toward such trend of the medical halls in the district," lamented he.Posted on: 2003-12-27 04:19
