Kin of accident victims demand compensation

DOLAKHA, DEC 26 - The family members of those who had died while travelling in the Arniko Transportation Committee bus along the 54-kilometre section of the road in Dolakha have staged a road-protest today disrupting the Kathmandu-Dolakha bus service.
It is learnt that six passengers had died and scores were hurt in an accident involving a bus with registration number Ba 2 Kha 8961, bound for Magadeurali in Dolakha from Kathmandu.
According to the Arniko committee, the victims’ families carried out the protest at the old bus park in the capital early this morning, and had blockaded buses headed for Dolakha. Due to this, many passengers were left stranded.
According to the Arniko Committee, it is conducting the treatment of the injured, while compensation for the dead will be provided after normal processing.Posted on: 2003-12-27 04:31
