Int’l tech festival kicks off today

KATHMANDU, DEC 25 - A week-long international technological festival, Locus 2003 is to commence in Kathmandu from tomorrow. This was revealed by the media co-ordinator of the organising committee Archana Bhattarai at the press meet organised in the capital today.
The students of the Department of Computer and Electronics Engineering at the Institute of Engineering (IOE) Pulchowk are initiating the festival. The technological festival is the first of its kind to be held in Nepal.
The festival will feature open Software and Hardware competitions, paper competitions, seminars, Inter-Engineering College quiz competition, robot exhibition from Robotics Club of IOE, Pulchowk Campus, technical cartooning, on-the-spot design and debugging contest for hardware and software and micro processor programme design.
According to the organisers, Locus 2003 will bring minimum of 200 participants from 23 engineering and technical colleges from all over the country including the guest participants from Birla Institute of Technology and Durgapur Engineering College from India. The formal events are for Bachelor’s level students of Information Technology whereas the informal events are open for Bachelor’s degree students of any other faculty. Posted on: 2003-12-26 04:28
