Himalayan Sherpa in semi-finals
DHARAN, FEB 08 -
Himalayan Sherpa Football Club, who entered into quarters as a replacement for NRT, confirmed their place in the semi-finals of 12th Budha Subba Tuborg Gold Cup football tournament after thumping a 3-0 victory over UK AFC Kurseong in Dharan on Monday.
Dipak Khawas, DLO Rahin and Uddhav KC scored a goal each to register an easy win in the one-sided match. Himalayan dominated the match right from the start but broke the deadlock in 42nd minute as Khawas directed the pass from Nigerian DLO Rahin back into the net to finish the first half 1-0.
Nigerian Rahin doubled the lead for Himalayan 10 minutes from time. Uddhav KC made it worst for Kurseong when he converted a penalty in injury time. Later, Jagjit Shrestha of Himalayan was honoured as man-of-the-match.
Himalayan will meet the winner of today’s match between Nepal Police Club and ANFA U-16.
