‘A’ division league starts from Feb 20
KATHMANDU, FEB 08 -
After a long wait of two years Martyrs’ Memorial 'A' Division League will finally kick off at the Dashrath Stadium from Feb. 20. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to be held on Feb. 12.
The first match will be played between Nepal Police Club and Boys Union Club. Besides these two clubs, 10 other 'A' division clubs including Nepal Army Club, Nabil Three Star, Manang Marshyangdi, Armed Police Force, Machhindra, Samsung Jawalakhel, NIB Friends’, New Road Team, Rani Pokhari Corner Team and Sankata Kathmandu Mall Club will vie for the title and cash prize of two million rupess. The league will be played in double round robin format.
The teams standing from second to eighth position at the end of the league will receive one million, Rs. 500,000 , Rs. 300,000, Rs. 200,000 , Rs. 100,000, Rs. 60,000 and Rs. 40,000 respectively.
The best coach and best players in their positions including keeper, mid-fielder, forward and defense will receive a bike, whereas one of the players who have contributed to Nepali football from past years will receive a car. The
approximate budget for the league is Rs. 17 millions.
