KATHMANDU: Orbit International has introduced a new range of BEKO refrigerators in the market. The capacities of the two new models are 610 litres and 500 litres. The large size of the products minimises waste of left-over food and has special functions like frost free, active ionizer, active odour filter and ice dispenser.
Valentine offer
KATHMANDU: Virgin Mobile on the occasion of Valentine's Day has announced a new scheme called Gift Give Away for its customers. This new scheme which started on Feb. 4 entitles customers to win cash prizes worth Rs. 10,000 from a pool of customers who purchase a handset from the store on the very day and can win a grand cash prize worth Rs. 100,000 at the end of the month, says a statement issued by Virgin Mobile. The company announced three winners on Sunday with coupon numbers 0919, 0208 and 0748.
NBB's new FD scheme
KATHMANDU: Nepal Bangladesh Bank (NBB) has launched a special two-year fixed deposit scheme with an attractive interest rate on fixed deposits called Panch ko Panch Faida on Sunday. The principal amount of this scheme is Rs. 555,000 and depositors will get 24 equal interest amounts of Rs. 500,000 irrespective of the number of days in the month along with a Rs. 5,000 bonus interest payable at maturity. According to a statement issued by the bank, customers would get an additional five facilities with this scheme which include free ABBS, ATM card, medical insurance worth Rs. 10,000 and
accident insurance worth
Rs. 500,000.
FNCCI flays Shah murder
KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on Monday condemned the murder of managing director of Space Time Network Jamim Shah. In a press release, the FNCCI condemned the government for failing to nab the culprits. "The entire private sector is worried about the deteriorating security situation of the Capital," said the umbrella organisation of businessmen.
Help for pilgrims
KATHMANDU: Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) joined hands with Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) to make sure pilgrims entertain hassle-free environment during Mahashivaratri festival. Around 500,000 pilgrims are expected to visit the famous Hindu temple. PADT has introduced a ticket system to address crowds. NIBL will provide tickets from its various branches, including Durbarmarga, Boudha, New Road, Gongabu, New Road, Putalisadak, Kalimati, Battisputali, Seepadol and Pulchowk of Kathmandu Valley and Biratnagar, Birgunj, Banepa and Bhairahawa outside the Capital, the NIBL said.
Everest, Habib sign pact
KATHMANDU: Everest Bank signed an agreement with Habib American Bank, U.S. on Monday. The new pact entitles Everest Bank to accept remittance from Nepalis working in the U.S. The two banks have agreed to launch remittance facilities for Nepalis in the U.S. without any commission, says a statement issued by Everest Bank.

Siddhartha goes to Pokhara
KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Development Bank opened its 13th branch in Pokhara. The bank announced the launch of two new accounts for its customers. The new accounts are called Savi Fixed account and Unnati Bachat. Savi account provides an annual interest rate of 12.5 percent while the Unnati Bachat account provides 9 percent interest on daily balance.
NIBL in Gaighat too
KATHMANDU: Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) opened its 35th branch in Gaighat on Monday. The bank said the new branch boasts of ABBS (Any Branch Banking Service), linking other 34 branches across the country, stated a press release issued by NIBL. The bank plans to extend its access to rural areas, the release added.
