Lohani refutes news item
KATHMANDU, DEC 24 - Finance Minister Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani today strongly refuted the allegations made by the representatives of the five parties that he had benefited financially from a land deal with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).
Lohani was reacting to a news report published yesterday in this daily, which quoted representatives of the five parties as alleging that he had benifited from a land deal. Lohani was charged with selling off his land measuring four annas (1,370 sft) in Ward no 9 to KMC at an inflated cost of Rs 6 million.
Lohani was also accused of renting out his house located at Naxal at an inflated cost.
In his statement, Lohani has said that the aforementioned house at Naxal Bhagavati does not belong to him. Regarding the alleged appointment of his ‘personal driver one Arjun Pandey’, Lohani has claimed that he does not know any person by the name of Arjun Pandey.
