Poor villager donates land for school
MUGU, DEC 23 - Though not a rich man, Dal Bahadur Sahi of Fotu village, 24 miles away from the district headquarters of Mugu, has contributed land worth Rs. 20,000 to a local school for the construction of a building.
Nepal Rastriya Primary School established in 1993 had been facing difficulty, conducting classes due to a lack of rooms. Though many meetings had been called previously with the hope of receiving assistance from the guardians for the construction of this building, no one had come forward to provide the very much needed land.
They had to rely on help from the guardians, as the school did not have any funds of its own, contends Gorkha Bahadur Sahi the chairman of the school committee.
According to Rambricha Singh, principal of this school, Dal Bahadur has already registered two Kathas of land in the school’s name.
It is learnt that three-room building with corrugated roofs with the financial assistance of Rs. 56,000 provided by District Education Project and with the labour contribution made by the locals has been constructed There are 40 students studying in this school under the guidance of two teachers at present.Posted on: 2003-12-24 04:54
