200 children deprived of Vitamin ‘A’ in Hatiya VDC

POST REPORT

HETAUDA, DEC 22 - Around 200 children in wards-8 and -9 of Hatiya VDC in Makwanpur district were deprived of the Vitamin ‘A’ programme launched by the government on November 19 and 20, despite the VDC being joined with Hetauda municipality, the district headquarters. The children were also to be given anti-worm drugs during the programme.
"Children from 163 houses were not included in the government programme as no health workers turned up for the purpose during the two days", according to Lal Bahadur Gole, Chairman of the management committee of local Akash Dhara Primary School. However, the District Public Health Office (DPHO) has claimed the programme to be a grand success.Posted on: 2003-12-23 04:52
