St. Xavier’s observes annual fete

LALITPUR, DEC 22 - St. Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel, hosted its annual school fete at its premises yesterday.
According to school sources, some 6000 youths attended a-day-long fete for enjoyment with near and dear ones. Youths bedecked in their trendiest outfits taking in the sun and the beautiful sights were a plenty.
Hot Breads, Wimpy’s, Bawarchi’s, Ringmo’s, Delicatessen Centre, C & W and other restaurant retailers who had set up stalls reported brisk business throughout the day.
Bibhushan Shakya and Deep Jung Rana, two Cambridge A Level students from Rato Bangala who were roaming around expressed delight at the opportunity to spend a day in leisure meeting with friends. "It’s great and more of these types of events are what we Kathmanduites need," said Bibhushan.
There was a lottery where players could try their luck at getting prizes ranging from Rs. 100 to Rs. 3000 and also a raffle draw in which a Pulsar, Colour TV and PC’s were up for grabs.Posted on: 2003-12-23 04:38
