Makalu, Panas, Agni bus services resume operation

POST REPORT

POKHARA, DEC 21 - Makalu, Panas and Agni bus services that were forced to halt their operation on Pokhara- Kathmandu route for the last four days, began plying their buses from today with the help of the District Administration Office (DAO).
The bus companies were unable to run the buses due to the continuous hurdles created by the staff of Prithvi Highway Bus Operators Committee (PHBOC), a syndicate of bus operators.
After the bus companies submitted an application to the DAO to take initiative in this regard, the office has helped them run the bus by providing security.
Police dispatched by the DAO have been providing security to a total of six buses up to Mugling in order to avoid any untoward incident.
Staff of PHBOC had attempted to stop the buses from operating today also by off loading the passengers from the buses and misbehaving them. However, the police foiled their attempt.
Moreover, DAO has called both the bus companies and the staff of PHBOC for talks in order to resolve the problem.Posted on: 2003-12-22 04:24
