ANFA thugs beat sports journo
KATHMANDU, DEC 21 - The Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) has harshly denounced the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) members’ misbehaviour against NSJF executive committee member Dinesh Jung Shah today.
In a press release issued today, the NSJF has condemned ANFA president Ganesh Thapa and member Mani Kunwar’s joint attack on Shah. The Rajdhani Dainik reporter was first harassed by president Thapa and physically assaulted by member Mani Kunwar at the Dashrath Stadium during Women’s Invitational Football final. The emergency meeting of the forum has also warned the related bodies to stop all misconduct with the sports journalists.
Meanwhile, Nepal Journalist Federation’s Rajdhani Chapter demanded an action against Thapa for his misconduct against Shah. In a press release issued today, the federation has flayed Thapa’s action and asked the government to take action against him. "We denounce Minister of Information and Communication Kamal Thapa’s brother Ganesh Thapa’s misconduct, who instead of negotiation beat a journalist on duty taking help from hooligans," the press release added. The press release also accused Thapa for threatening Rajdhani Dainik situated at Chabahil.
Shah had published a news-report on December 15 revealing Thapa’s withdrawing of advance from National Sports Council (NSC). The news revealed that Thapa owes a due of Rs 228,948 to the council.Posted on: 2003-12-22 04:27
