IT exhibition to begin on Friday
KATHMANDU, DEC 18 - Dristikon Nepal, a non-governmental organisation, with technical support from the Association of Computer Engineers Nepal (ACEN), is going to organise information technology (IT) exhibition- 2003.
The three-day IT exhibition will begin from December 19 at Rotary Club Thapathali.
The main objective of the event is to involve a number of schools and colleges offering various IT courses and students and raise awareness among the people about the emergence and usefulness of IT.
The organisers of the exhibition said that they want to socialise the achievements of IT so that greater number of people would know about it.
The main attraction of the expo would be the robot made by Nepali students of engineering college, which was declared excellent robot in South Asia during an exhibition held in India this year.
There would be 17 stalls altogether in the expo and a talk programme on IT Scenario in Nepal will also be held during the event.
The exhibition would focus on giving the information on the latest development in IT sector, said the organisers.
Fifty per cent discount is given to students on entrance fee upon producing their valid students’ identity cards.
Software and hardware products of some Nepali IT companies would be displayed during the expo.
They also said that despite their request to provide financial assistance for the event, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other related agencies did not provide any support.Posted on: 2003-12-19 03:38
