RNA detain Chief Secy’s PA

KATHMANDU, DEC 17 - The Royal Nepal Army (RNA) has reportedly abducted Mahesh Krishna Maharjan from the premises of the Singha Durbar without arrest warrant. Maharjan is a personal assistant to the Chief Secretary Bimal Prasad Koirala.
The RNA has informed neither the office concerned nor his family.
A resident of Sunakothi in Lalitpur district, Maharjan was waylaid on his way home from the office.
Maharjan’s colleagues in his office began the search for him only from Tuesday morning when they knew he did not reach home the previous night.His father Bekha Ram and wife Reena spent the whole day today doing the rounds of all the offices concerned and appealing to the officials for Maharjan’s life in the Singha Durbar.Chief Secretary Koirala with the cooperation of defence secretary Madan Prasad Aryal had traced the whereabouts of Maharjan.
According to a source, Maharjan is in the custody of the Srinath Battalion stationed at Singha Durbar.
