Relief support for disaster victims

KATHMANDU, DEC 17 - Lotus Light Charity Society of Singapore handed over relief aid to Additional Inspector General of Police Dr. Govinda Prasad Thapa, which will be distributed to the victims of floods and landslides of Rasuwa and Sindupalchok districts. The programme was organised by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) ward 6, Bouddha to mark its 9th anniversary here today.
The relief materials include blankets and rice sacks. Dev Kumar Lama, president of the ward, said that 140 rice sacks of 50 kilograms and 117 pieces of blankets were separated for Rasuwa district while 40 rice sacks and 40 pieces of blankets were for Sindhupalchok district.
Meanwhile, KMC head office organised a blood donation programme and other medical check-up programmes to mark the concluding ceremony of its anniversary.Posted on: 2003-12-18 04:04
