Development programme review meet organised

KATHMANDU, DEC 17 - Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare Renu Kumari Yadav presided over the first four monthly meeting of the development projects under the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare for the fiscal year 2003-04 and the ministry level development problems resolution committee here yesterday.
At the meeting, Minister of State Yadav said that the cooperation of the donor agencies, governmental and nongovernmenstal organisations will be important in achieving the objectives of the plans and programmes of the Ministry.
She also expected cooperation from one and all in the programmes to be extended on the basis of the policy and action plan to ensure gender equality, women empowerment and development of women and children as envisaged in the tenth plan.
Pointing out the need to monitor and evaluate the programmes on the basis of the gender budget, gender testing and gender indices, she expressed the hope that cent per cent achievement will be achieved at the next the progress review meeting.
Ministry at the secretary Shashikant Mainali pointed out the need to be active to achieve hundred per cent progress of the programmes in the days ahead.
Joint secretary at the Ministry Shridhar Prasad Pokharel presented the problems of the development programmes at the Ministry level. Posted on: 2003-12-18 04:08
