Over 150 people held in Dang
GHORAHI, DANG, DEC 16 - Security forces today arrested more than 150 people, including women and children, hired by a local contractor to be employed in kiln and brick factories in the Kathmandu Valley.
Security sources said that the people, who hailed from rural parts of Rolpa and Dang, were kept under "special vigilance" and added that those found innocent would be released by Tuesday morning. The security officials were learnt to have interrogated their team leaders. Women and children, however, have been provided accommodation at hotels and lodges.
The security forces have prevented vehicles from plying on the Ghorahi-Holeri (Rolpa) and Ghorahi-Mukutti (Pyuthan) highways for security reasons, as they anticipated an untoward situation in the areas.Posted on: 2003-12-17 04:17
