Cabinet expansion soon: PM

KATHMANDU, DEC 16 - Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa has said that he would respond to the Central Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) within a week.
Inaugurating the Nepal Press Club (NPC), today, PM Thapa informed that the he would expand the cabinet after his visit to Bangladesh and the Maldives. The RPP had directed the PM Thapa, who is also the founding chairman of the RPP, to step down. Thapa has rejected the party’s directives.
The RPP’s CDC had then forwarded a letter to the PM to respond why he did not follow the party’s directives. Meanwhile the PM’s office refused to accept the CDC’s letter for the second time today.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information and Communication Kamal Thapa reiterated the government’s determination to hold election and urged the agitating political parties to cooperate with the government. Senior journalists Aditya Man Shrestha and Yubaraj Ghimire are the president and vice president of the NPC.Posted on: 2003-12-17 04:30
