Koirala nays foreign support
KATHMANDU, DEC 14 - In a most cavalier remark yet, Nepali Congress (NC) President Girija Prasad Koirala on Saturday said that the political parties were no longer keen to listen to what foreign diplomats say on the issue of restoring the derailed constitutional and democratic process.
"We will neither seek any help from them (friendly countries and their diplomats) nor listen to what they have to say on the issue in hand which includes fighting out continued regression," Koirala said while addressing party workers in Teku. The function was held to apprise the workers from around the country on the tenth phase protest programme announced on Friday.
Similarly in a most strident remark yet on the constitutional monarch, Koirala said that although the political parties still consider national reconciliation as the best way out of the current imbroglio, the parties will be left with absolutely no other options if King Gyanendra did not refrain from setting wrong trends.
"We have been stressing the need to reconcile early on but he does not seem to listen," Koirala said.Posted on: 2003-12-15 04:54
