KATHMANDU, DEC 14 - Rajendra Kumar Khetan became the new president of Nepal Insurance Association (NIA) on Thursday, according to a press release issued by the association here today. Khetan has taken over the post from K B Basnyat.
Khetan has said that he would work for the growth of the insurance business in the country with effective co-ordination among the Insurance Board and the Ministry of Finance and other related organisations.
According to the release, a total of 18 insurance companies of the country provide direct employment to 3,000 people and indirect employment to 10,000 people. The total premium mobilization of local insurance companies is around Rs 2 billion.Posted on: 2003-12-15 04:13
