eSewa online payment service launched

KATHMANDU, JAN 21 -
F1 Soft International on Thursday launched eSewa (esewa.com.np), an online payment service that provides payment facilities through the internet.

The company has been providing internet banking, SMS banking, utility payment gateway and mobile-based payment to banks in the country.

The company said that users could process their payments with just a few clicks. The service is available 24 hours a day.

According to the company, eSewa is available in two modules -- B2B and B2C. B2B module outlets like cyber cafes can register with eSewa and accept payment for utilities and other services. In the B2C module, anyone can register and use the services.

"We are providing attractive discounts on the services through eSewa to encourage online transactions. A Rs. 500 recharge card costs only Rs. 492.50 through the service, and we offer discounts of 2-5 percent on Buddha Air tickets," the company said.

Laxmi Bank is the settlement and partner bank of the company. It plans to add a new bank as partner bank each week. It also plans to launch mSewa, the mobile version of eSewa.
