Salt price surges in Ramechhap

RSS

RAMECHHAP, DEC 12 - The price of salt and other materials of daily consumption in Ramechhap district has gone high after the porters ceased to deliver the materials due to the Maoist threat.
Thousands of villagers in the out-reach parts of the district at present have been affected by the shortage of salt and kerosene, it is said. The people have to pay more than Rs 100 for a pathi (about 4 kgs) of salt at present, which otherwise would have been available at Rs 30/32, says Ram Chandra Karki of Dhobi Bazaar of the district.Posted on: 2003-12-13 04:16
