RSS

RUKUM, DEC 12 - People in Rukum district walk for more than 3 days in order to make telephone call to their relatives living in other parts of the kingdom or foreign countries.
‘I could contact my son in Malaysia only after a four day’s struggle as it took three days to walk to the district headquarters and an additional day to stay on queue,’ said Hira Bahadur Pun of Ranmakot VDC-2.There is a single public telephone line in the district run by V-Sat system and people often have to stay on queues for getting their turns. The telephone line is not very clear and often gets interrupted thereby causing problems, says the telephone staff Lal Bahadur Khatri.Posted on: 2003-12-13 04:16
