Maoists firebomb training centre in Bara
KATHMANDU, DEC 11 - A group of Maoist rebels last night destroyed a training building built by a British donor agency, Inter Technology Development Group, in Nijgadh, Bara three months ago.
Eyewitnesses said that the rebels exploded two powerful pressure cooker bombs inside the six-roomed building. The value of property destroyed in the bomb blast has yet to be assessed. A temple located nearby the building has also been partially damaged and idols of the temple burned down.
Meanwhile, a report from Butwal stated that a group of armed-rebels captured a private tractor from the banks of Tinau River in the Anandavan VDC yesterday. The tractor bearing registration number Lu 1 Ta 4712 belongs to Ram Chandra Neupane of Bhumahi Village in Nawalparasi.
Police said that three persons who claimed to be revolutionaries took tractor driver Jeet Narayan Yadav under control, and moved it to the east. But Maoists have not owned responsibility to the incident. Police are searching for the tractor in possible areas.
Another report from Syangja has it that Maoist rebels are believed to have collected a huge amount of foodstuff from rural parts of the district during the weekend.
