Visitors thrilled by offers

As during all the past editions of CAN Info-Tech, the 16th edition of the mega event has showcased the latest technological developments in the ICT sector making it the perfect platform to observe the innovations and conduct trade in the products and services related to the information technology industry.
Most of the 100 exhibitors are providing attractive discounts, gifts, exchange offers and other options.
"I waited for two whole months to buy a laptop," said Badri Karki from Maitidevi, Kathmandu, after buying a Dell Inspiration 1545 for Rs. 63,900 which comes with a free printer worth Rs. 3,600. "The charm of the Info-Tech is that we can get whatever we wish to buy at competitive prices," he added.
He said that a laptop had been like a basic necessity for him office work, but the price was much higher earlier. A representative of Neoteric Nepal at the Dell stall, who has been dealing with a bunch of curious college goers, said that they had been offering a printer free of cost on the purchase of nine various models of Dell laptops ranging from Rs. 54,900 to Rs. 108,900. Similarly, Neoteric has also launched a scheme which enables buyers of Nokia N81 to get an N5130 model worth Rs. 9,070 of Nokia free of cost.
Overwhelmed by the various schemes at each of the stalls, Sunam Sherpa, a plus 2 student, said, "Every year, the products are getting cheaper with more discounts that have made them affordable."
Another person who was attracted by Mac products said that they were very expensive for Nepalis. "It would be easier for us if the distributor offered Mac products on instalment basis," he added. Just like other stalls, Mazda International has also offered discounts on its products.
"I think that anybody who enters the expo will not return empty-handed," said a visitor. "But the expo is mainly targeted at business rather than knowledge sharing."
