PM must quit for good: Rana

POST REPORT

KATHMANDU, DEC 08 - The resignation of Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa would open innumerable doors to resolve the current political stalemate, Pashupati Sumsher Rana, chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has expressed.
In an exclusive conversation with The Kathmandu Post, Rana also expressed hope that the PM would step down for the good of the nation.
While justifying the party’s decision to ask the PM’s resignation, Rana said, "RPP showed its responsibility for the country and took a very hard decision."He also stressed that the formation of an all-party government would only settle the current crisis. "We asked even Lokendra Bahadur Chand to step down because he could not form an all-party cabinet. This is merely a continuation of the policy already established and was initiated by Surya Bahadur Thapa himself, when he was the RPP chairman," Rana added.Posted on: 2003-12-09 04:28
