Bibekananda Cricket Club enter semis
BHAIRAHAWA, DEC 03 - Bibekananda Cricket Club of Gwalior entered the semifinal of the US$1,000 Late Sunil Sarkar Indo-Nepal Cricket Tournament defeating local Siddartha XI by 62 runs today at the Siddartha Stadium.
The Gwalior side scored 178 runs in 39 overs after electing to bat and bowled out the local team for 116 in 32.5 overs.
Sami Khan and Sachin Chauhan added 63 runs for third wicket to take the team score beyond three-digit mark. Khan missed deserving half-century as he was bowled by Sunil Upadhyaya on 49. But Chauhan didn’t miss the landmark and went on to score 55 runs before being bowled by Jitendra. Chauhan hit four fours and a towering six.The last five wickets of Gwalior team only managed 26 runs as they lost their wickets in an attempt to accelerate the run rate. Jitendra Yadav took three wickets for 20 runs while Tarik Muzib and Sunil Upadhyaya each took two wickets for the local team.
In reply, no Siddartha XI batsmen stayed longer at the crease to threaten the Gwalior outfit. Agha Shahi topscored with 31 while Upadhyaya got 21 and Ansul Kapoor got 11, equal to what Yadav scored.
