BANKE, DEC 03 - In a fierce clash between the security forces and the Maoists here which is still continuing, both sides are said to have suffered heavy losses. The clash began at four in the afternoon.
The exact spot of encounter, however, has not been known yet as the reports coming in are sketchy.
Army sources said that the encounter occurred at Balkhanda along the border of Doti and Kailali districts. But the police have claimed the spot as Pandhan, located to the north of Kailali district.
A helicopter from Royal Nepal Army Divisional Headquarters, Nepalgunj was flown for providing security assistance at nine in the evening.Posted on: 2003-12-02 10:47
