BCC beat KRP Cricket Club
BHAIRAHAWA, DEC 02 - Bibekananda Cricket Club, (BCC) Gwalior defeated KRP Cricket Club of Mumbai by seven runs in a thrilling match of the Late Sunil Sarkar Indo-Nepal Cricket Tournament today at the Siddartha Stadium to set a date with local Siddartha XI on Tuesday.
Bibekananda batted first after winning the toss and made 133 runs in 35.1 overs before bolwing out KPR for 126 in 39.2 overs.
Man of the match Sami Khan took two vital wickets as the Mumbai team struggled to score runs after they lost their first wicket on zero. They however reached 99/8 and were very near to victory that never came their way as No 8 Sanjay, who topscored with 28, got out as the ninth wicket. The wicket gave the last pair a responsibility of adding 35 runs for win.
Beside Sanjay, opener Rajesh scored 24 while Sami and Sanjay Singh took two wickets while Harish Sharma and Harish Yadav took a wicket each. Sami gave away only 16 runs in his eight overs.
Earlier, a 35-run partnership for eighth wicket and another 23-run partnership for last wicket took Gwaliar side to a respectable total. The team looked in deep trouble losing three wickets while the scoreboard was reading 71 and slumping into 71/8.
