CAAN blacklists operators
KATHMANDU, NOV 26 - The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has blacklisted Shibendra Bahadur Basnet, the Managing Director of the Mountain Air Pvt Ltd for violating CAAN’s safety regulations recentlyAccording to CAAN officials, Basnet was found to have operated flights without CAAN’s approval and inspections."Basnet will not be eligible to work in any airlines companies from now," said Ratish Chandra Lal Suman, Chief of Airworthiness Section of CAAN.
The letter sent to Basnet reads, "You have been found to have operated 9N AGA aircraft without clearing HIS dues," adding ...and thus you have been blacklisted and are barred from taking responsibilities at similar posts in the future."
Along with Basnet, the CAAN has decided to revoke license of several officials of the Mountain Air on the same case. Furthermore, CAAN has also suspended licenses of three engineers of the company for two years.Posted on: 2003-11-25 09:50
