NOV 25 - Subhakamana bag titleKATHMANDU, Nov 24 (PR) - Subhakamana English School trounced hosts Modern Indian School by six wickets to lift Silver Jubilee Cricket Tournament winner’s trophy here today. In the low-scoring final, Modern Indian were bowled out for mere 46 runs in 16 overs. Sujan Maharjan was the wrecker-in-chief of the hosts’ innings with three wickets while Ahmed Khan and Prasanna also helped him with two wickets each.In reply, Subhakamana reached the target in 10.3 overs despite efforts of Anees Karna. Anees took three wickets but couldn’t stop opponents from achieving the total. Sujan, who was later adjudged man of the match, scored 17 while Prasanna got 15. Ahmed was declared man of the series while Anees was the man to take away the best bowler award.
Eastern Region Basketball
DHARAN, Nov 24 (PR) - Secondary Boarding and Depot have become the first two semifinalists in the First Eastern Region Inter-school Basketball Tournament, both teams beating their opponents 40-37. Riding on 31 points from Ram Rai, Secondary pulled off the close 40-37 win over Oasis Boarding. Naresh top-scored for Oasis with 15 points. In the other match, the highest scorer was Bijaya Gurung, who scored 17 points. But Gurung’s efforts went in vain as his team Summit Secondary lost by a whisker.
YCC Cup Cricket
BIRATNAGAR - Sri Ram Secondary and Everest Boarding entered the second round of The YCC Cup Inter-school Cricket beating Azalea Boarding and Balbatika Boarding respectively. Azalea went in to bat first after winning the toss but were bundled out for 80 runs. The winners, Sri Ram, completed the target in the 16th over loosing only five wickets. Sri Ram’s Subash Dahal, who took three wickets and hit 33 runs, was adjudged the man of the match. In the second game, Rajesh Pokhrel spearheaded Everest’s charge taking three wickets. Everest easily reached the 76-run target given by Balbatika in the 17th over and again Rajesh stood out, remaining not out with 16 runs. Rajesh was declared the man of the match.

LALITPUR - Sandesh Awale, Ajaya Suwal, Amar Lal Malla and Deep Saun are into the semifinals of the under- 16 boys’ singles category of the Ganesh Memorial Table Tennis. In the boys’ doubles of the same age group, the teams of Sandesh and Ram, Kamal and Prabhat, Rajesh and Rakesh and Ajaya and Amar won today to get into the semifinals. In the U-16 girl’s doubles, the semifinalists are the teams of Alisha and Anju, Manju and Ram Kumari, Jyotsana and Sangeeta and Rabina and Samjhana while the semifinalists in the U-16 mixed doubles are the teams of Sandesh and Alisha, Rabina and Sonu, Amal and Rajkumari, and Amar Lal and Biju. Similarly, Rojina Desar, Srijana Sigdel, Manisha Shrestha and Anju got into the U-10 girl’s semifinals. Sabin Prasai, Deep Gurung, Anup Shrestha and Sujan Manandhar are the U-12 boys’ singles semifinalists while Sunita Rai, Manju Gurung, Manita Pandey and Sangeeta Dahal are the girls’.
12th IGP Cup Football
KAVRE - One goal each from Makar, Rabi and Sunil helped Padma Secondary thrash Kathmandu University High School 3-1, today, at the IGP Cup organised by Dipendra Police School, Sanga.
