ANNISU-R to close educational institutions

KATHMANDU, NOV 18 - All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), a Maoist-affiliated student union, eastern region, has announced the closure of educational institutions on December 7 and 8 in eastern region and has threatened to take retaliatory actions in response to arrest of its cadres.Issuing a statement here, ANNISU-R warned it was compelled to take stern measures following the arrest and killing of its cadres.
The protests include: retaliatory action from November 17 to December 1, hoisting of black flags from December 2 to 6 in schools and closing of educational institutions, the statement said.
It has also threatened the closure of factory and transportation.
It said that its cadres Sujit Narayan Yadav and Pasindra Patel were recently arrested and killed by security forces.Posted on: 2003-11-17 09:08
