POST REPORT

BIRATNAGAR, NOV 11 - Yam Pradhan, the deputy-chairman of the Nepal Press Union (NPU), through a press release, today condemned the seizing of photographs by security personnel from a journalist working with the Kantipur Publications. The release states the event to have terrorised all working journalists in the country.
The security team continued to search Sahiman Rai, the journalist, even after he produced his identity card and confiscated eight photos related to news, in a raid at his hotel room in Zeropoint of Bhojpur district. This act of security personnel is targeted towards depriving working journalists of their rights to employment, states the release. Censor of the diary of the reporter comes as another severe blow to press in Nepal which is rolling through a critical phase of threats and counter-threats by security personnel and Moist rebels, states the release.
