Revenue collection up by 17 per cent

BIRATNAGAR, NOV 05 - At a time when economic activities of the nation are on the verge of decline due to the escalating violence, the revenue mobilisation, according to the Internal Revenue Office, (IRO), Biratnagar has surged up by 17 percent during the first three months of the current fiscal year.
According to an official statistics of the IRO, the office has been able to collect the revenue of Rs 228 million during the period as against Rs 195 million revenue in the previous year. The IRO, Biratnagar aims to collect Rs1.22 billion during the current fiscal year.
Chunamadi Devkota, a revenue officer at the IRO, Biratnagar expressed contentment over the revenue collection though the industrial out put has been fragile due to the increasing instability and conflicting mess in the country.
"We will be able to meet the targeted revenues during the current fiscal year, if the trend of revenue collection follow the trend same as in the first three months," he said.Posted on: 2003-11-04 09:33
