KATHMANDU, NOV 05 - Though the value of Nepali currency is low in the international exchange market, Nepali coins are valuable to the coin collectors.
German citizen Hans Wittmann has published a pictorial book on Nepali notes brought out during the reign of late king Tribhuvan to late king Birednra.
He has given pictorial description of Rana prime minister Juddha Shumsher, who started note in Nepal, Khajanchis, governors of the Nepal Rastra Bank and the German version of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act in the 135 page book.
The book entitled "Die Banknoten Des Konigreichs Nepal" has been provided to various museums of Europe, it is stated.
Meanwhile, coin collector Jayahari Jha said that about 500 persons have collected notes in Nepal and the book will be fruitful to generate awareness about coin collection in Nepal.
He said that he has been bringing notes from 130 countries of the world and demanded that the permission should be given to bring notes for the purpose of collection.Posted on: 2003-11-04 09:16
