Poetry recitation marks Devkota’s birth anniversary
KATHMANDU, NOV 05 - Poets of different stature congregated here for a poetry recitation session organised to mark the 95th birth anniversary of Mahakabi Laxmi Prasad Devkota today. In the gathering of more than two dozen poets, the atmosphere was largely dominated by the poems that portray turbulent state of the nation, while Chatyang Master’s comical presentation in the same issue outlived everybody else’s recitation.
The programme, organised by the Nepal-Russia Literary Association and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, witnessed the revival of Devkota’s connection with Russia, in which the director of the Russian Centre recited the Russian translation of Devkota’s creation "Ma Sunyama Sunyasari Bilaya". Devkota had composed the poem while in visit to the Russian capital, Moscow.Posted on: 2003-11-04 09:15
