NOV 05 - The anti-corruption rally organised by the so-called civil society and some publicity hungry organizations is a mockery of corruption, and the failure of our leaders to check it.
Lucky guys, the Panchayati leaders who looted the country for three decades do not have to face any action since the Lamsal Commission has prevented them from being dragged to the court of law.. And there appears no immediate chance of bringing these corrupt leaders to book. Those who organised the rally (News report: “Anti-corruption rally organised,” November 4) must press the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority to bring the corrupt people of the Panchayat era within the legal loop. And the country’s constitutional anti-corruption body must also dig its teeth into those who looted the state coffers after the restoration of multi-party democracy. Organising a motor cycle rally alone will not help stamp out corruption. Who knows how many corrupt participated in the rally? My point is: Corruption is all too pervasive. A techno-parade on the road should be backed by manifold action to eliminate corruption in any form.
