Radio Kantipur marks 11th anniversary
KATHMANDU, NOV 13 - Radio Kantipur, Radio Rastrako (96.1 MHz) celebrated its 11th anniversary amid a huge function on Friday.
Chairman and Managing Director of Kantipur FM Pvt. Ltd. Kailash Sirohiya, hailed the achievements and efforts of the first private FM station in the country. Sirohiya stated that the radio station would continue to provide its service in the coming years keeping in view the expectations of its listeners.
Radio Kantipur, which was known as Kantipur FM earlier, is the first commercial private FM Station in the country. It was established in Oct. 1998. It is especially popular in the eastern region of Nepal with 96 percent listeners.
And it is also the most listened Radio Station in the Capital with 80 percent of listeners, according to the report of AC Nielsen Nepal, a research agency.
The station is popular for its prompt news service and varieties of entertaining programmes with special focus on music, lifestyle and leisure.
Expertise in identifying the audience's preferences combined with outstanding on-air personalities has helped Kantipur FM 96.1, susttain audience loyalty.
Kantipur FM, on its anniversary every year, maintains the tradition of honouring the top ten Nepali singers, musicians, bands and lyricists to encourage and motivate them to bring out the best of their talent.

FM honoured different singers, musicians, bands and lyricists.
