Earthquake foreseen
KAVREPALANCHOWK, OCT 30 - There is the possibility of an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter scale occurring with Gosaisthan of Banepa as the epicentre and within the radius of 20 kilometre within the next few years, according to the concerned experts. This information was given by engineer at the Earthquake Technology National Society Surya Narayan Shrestha who made a presentation on the topic at a workshop organised recently by Banepa Municipality at Dhulikhel, the headquarters of Kabhrepalanchok district.
The finding is based on the radius system of prediction and the minor earthquakes have occurred for 124 times after the devastating one in 70 years ago, it was also stated on the occasion.
