Armed bandits loot 15 houses

POST REPORT

KAPILVASTU, OCT 30 - Armed bandits plundered 15 houses in Dohani village of Hathihawa VDC-3 in Kapilvastu in one night.
During the looting that took place in this village situated in the southeastern part of the district headquarters, adjoining the Indian border yesterday night, three locals had been injured as they were beaten up by the dacoits.
According to information provided by the police, the bandits were successful in getting their hands on clothes, foodstuff, ornaments, cash and other valuables worth around Rs. 200,000.
A security force team that reached the incident site some time later has taken two locals under their custody in connection with their suspected involvement in the looting. It is learnt that about five to seven assailants had been involved in the looting-spree and a search for the rest of the members is underway.
Just about a month
ago, a similar type of incident had occurred in the adjacent Bithuwa VDC in which a group had looted 50 houses armed bandits.Posted on: 2003-10-29 09:04
