Singling out Malinowski
OCT 23 - I read with great interest the views of Dr Sundar Mani Dixit (Treating Nepal as a U.S. state, October 22). While I respect his freedom of expression, I do not share his perception about the U.S. and its ambassador to Nepal, Mr Michael E Malinowski.
Dr Dixit is a well-known medical doctor in this country, and I am an ordinary member of the Nepali society. Even then I believe that Dr Dixit must not expect that all other Nepalis to think alike. In fact, he should have avoided expressions like “all nationalists and self-esteemed Nepalis” in the process of criticizing the U.S. ambassador. I am a nationalist and also a self-esteemed Nepali, but I do not consider it fair to single out one particular envoy out of three (American, British and Indian) and denounce him unfairly.
Actually, it is India and its ambassador to Nepal who are actively playing politics. I am curious why the respected doctor is not uttering a word about the activities of Indian envoy in Kathmandu.
